The Bicentennial Needs Your Help!

Are you looking to have a real impact on what the Hamilton County Bicentennial looks like? Do you love (or even just like) history? Do you (or did you) live in the area? We want to hear from you!

Because the celebration of #hamcoturns200 is so important, we want to get started on the planning as soon as possible. In order to do that, we want to know what the community wants from a Bicentennial celebration. One of our guiding principles is to represent multiple perspectives, and what better way to do that than to ask the community directly?

We created a survey in order to discover exactly what type of history inspires the different communities in Hamilton County. It's anonymous, and we'll use the information we gather to make sure your ideas are included!

The Bicentennial is also looking to find out what history is important to the next generation, the kids who live here and who may choose to stay once they grow up. If you're a parent or guardian, ask your kids what type of history interests them! There's a place on the survey for them to be included.

The survey will be open into November of this year, so you've got time. Get your family and friends involved! Anyone can fill out the survey, even though there's a question about what township you live in here in the county. If you've moved away and plan on coming to visit during the Bicentennial (or any other time!), tell us where you used to live.

Bottom line, we understand how important the communities of Hamilton County are to how history is remembered. If we don't take the time to ask about what matters to you, how will we know? If we don't know, we can't make the Bicentennial the best it can possibly be, and who wants anything less than the best?? Filling out the survey is probably the easiest thing you'll do today! There's links to the survey a couple different places in this blog post, or you can find it on the front page of our website. Thank you in advance!
